Diopside is a semi-precious, monoclinic pyroxene mineral that is part of the calcium magnesium silicate group. It is known for its vibrant colors and healing properties. Diopside can be transparent to translucent, with a vitreous (glassy) luster and a Mohs hardness of 5 to 6.

Diopside can be found in a variety of colors, including green, yellow, and reddish-brown. Green diopside, also known as chrome diopside, is the most common color and gets its hue from traces of chromium. The most valuable chrome diopside gems are a deep forest green, similar to tsavorite garnet. Chrome diopside's intense green color and high refraction give it great brilliance and life.

Russia, Pakistan, and Kenya supply the world with gem-quality chrome diopside. Because it is a soft stone, suppliers are more willing to allow it to reach the open market at a reasonable price. Chrome diopside is generally more affordable than emerald and has a deeper green hue.

Vesuvianite, also known as idocrase, is a rare, semi-precious silicate mineral and gemstone with a complex chemical composition:

  • Color: Can be green, brown, yellow, pink, purple, blue, red, orange, and white

  • Hardness: 6.5 on the Mohs scale

  • Appearance: Similar to peridot, tourmaline, and green garnets

  • Crystal structure: Similar to garnet, and crystallizes in the tetragonal system

Vesuvianite is named after Mount Vesuvius in Italy, where it was first discovered in blocks or near lavas. It can also be found in skarn deposits and limestones that have been subjected to contact metamorphism.

Epidote is a calcium aluminum iron sorosilicate mineral that is associated with metamorphic rocks and is known for its vibrant green color. It is said to have several healing properties, including:

  • Heart chakra healing: Some say that using epidote as a chakra stone can help open your heart chakra, which can lead to feelings of self-love, compassion, and acceptance.

  • Transformation and growth: Epidote is said to help with transformation and growth.

  • Release of negativity: Epidote is said to help release negativity.

  • Abundance and prosperity: Epidote is said to help with abundance and prosperity.
